Overview

In this 6-9 month, 180-hour training, You will learn the Mat-work from Pre-Pilates to the Advanced level. Not only will you learn the repertoire of exercises, you’ll also learn the ‘why’ behind the work and the beauty of hands on cueing. You’ll practice teaching to your fellow Mat students as well as friends and family while you work through the program. You’ll learn about Pilates history and anatomy, how to modify the work for injuries, how to advance a client, how to teach in a group setting to mixed levels and abilities, and how to create a confident voice as a teacher. We offer this in-studio with seminars at each level, as well as supplementation through our online portal. If you are already a contemporary teacher, we offer a bridging program with reduced hours for you to complete the program. You will sit exams in teaching, anatomy and personal practice to ensure you are a confident teacher of the method.

Your Teacher TraINER

Suzanne is a 2nd Generation Classical Pilates Teacher.

She enjoyed a 12-year professional dance career in Vienna, Austria, as a ballet dancer in the Vienna Volksoper and State Opera Ballet Companies before becoming a 2nd Generation Pilates Teacher through Romana Kryzanowska’s Classical Pilates Teacher Training in 2000.

Suzanne is passionate about the Classical Pilates Method and sharing it with a diverse client base at her studio in Coffs Harbour and previously in Vienna, Austria. She is passionate about keeping the Classical Pilates System alive and passing down this valuable legacy to the next generation of Pilates Teachers.

She has taught Pilates full time for over 25 years and her clients have included :classical musicians, opera singers, professional dancers & athletes, children, the elderly and everyone in between. She especially enjoys working with injured & chronic pain clients and those with limited movement experience.

Suzanne holds the following qualifications:

  • 2nd generation Pilates Instructor (completed her full Pilates education with Romana Kryzanowska, New York, graduating in 2000)

  • Bridging Diploma of Pilates PITC (Australia)

  • Pilates Instructor-Principal Level Pilates Trainer (Pilates Association Australia)

  • Formerly, a teacher trainer for The Pilates System Europe.

Former roles:

  • Ballet Dancer, Vienna Volksoper Ballet (1988–1996)

  • Ballet Dancer, Vienna State Opera Ballet (1996–2000)

Suzanne’s passion for teaching other teachers can be seen in her encouraging, motivating and highly inspiring way of passing on her extensive knowledge about movement. She taught me not only the classical system of Pilates but also how to read the body language of other people. She showed me where is the issue in the body and ways how to deal with it. Suzanne spent many hours teaching me and other students if necessary even in her free time to help us to improve. Furthermore, the Studio was always open to practice for myself and she encouraged me to observe her teaching as well. She always was able to give me a very good explanation of the anatomy and the reasons behind the exercises.

In my exam and even today, I feel very comfortable in my teaching as I got the best preparation I could wish for. She still is a big role model and whenever I can I am happy to go to classes and workshops to learn from her.
I admire Suzanne for her constant drive to improve herself. She still attends further studies and workshops in movement around the world. She immediately passes on the newly gained knowledge to her staff and students with great enthusiasm. Working for Suzanne was a constant improvement in me, and the lovely and warm atmosphere made it a blessed experience. I highly recommend booking one of her workshops and experiencing the knowledge and compassion Suzanne has about movement.
