This Class is designed for students with physical limitations who have trouble getting up and down from the floor in regular Pilates, MAT, and Yoga classes.

This class focuses on building muscular strength and endurance without stressing joints and back strength and maintaining good posture. The aim is to give you more ease in everyday activities such as walking, stair climbing, gardening and sports. Exercises are done in a chair, and some are done standing to improve your balance. The focus is on breathing, spinal movements & alignment, shoulder mobility and stability, arm strength, balance, core strength, and foot & gait exercises. You will achieve greater body awareness and confidence.

What Students Say…

As our term draws to a close I would like to thank you for such a lovely, peaceful, gentle, yet so beneficial, chair pilates class. I have thoroughly enjoyed this method of exercise, most notably being able to work at our own pace. The movement I have regained after a previous surgically corrected heel osteotomy is wonderful. A shoulder injury has also improved using core strength exercises. Your patience and encouragement is much appreciated. I am a definite participant next term.

I have been attending Suzanne’s classes for many years. Suzanne is a passionate and dedicated —- gaining as much knowledge as possible to help her students towards improved mobility. Suzanne’s classes are informative and enjoyable—-you come away feeling that every muscle has had a workout! I go to the Senior class, and Suzanne has lots of tips for correct walking techniques, lifting and exercises to prevent falls —- even eye exercises.
Suzanne is an excellent and inspiring teacher. There is only one Suzanne!
