About this workshop

The GYROKINESIS® Method Level 1 / Format 1 Workshops are designed to provide an in-depth introduction to the foundational principles and movements of the GYROKINESIS® method. Here's a closer look at what these workshops entail:

Foundational Movements: The workshops focus on teaching the fundamental movements of the GYROKINESIS® method. Participants learn sequences encompassing various movement patterns, including spirals, arches, curls, and undulating motions. These exercises are designed to promote flexibility, coordination, and strength throughout the body.

Breathing Techniques: A key aspect of the GYROKINESIS® method is integrating breathing patterns with each movement. The workshops guide participants in aligning their breath with their motions, which helps to support the cardiovascular system, calm the nervous system, and increase energy flow.

Seated, Standing, and Floor Exercises: The workshops offer exercises in various positions, including seated on a stool, standing, and on the floor. This variety helps participants develop balance, stability, and fluidity in movement, catering to different mobility and fitness levels.

Holistic Approach: The GYROKINESIS® method is known for its holistic approach to movement, integrating physical exercises with mindfulness and body awareness. Participants are encouraged to tune into their bodies, promoting relaxation and overall well-being.

As a yoga teacher GYROKINESIS was new for me. After a 2 1/2-hour class with Suzanne, I felt like I had been put back together from the inside out. Suzanne, knowledgeable, careful, and compassionate teaching allowed me to feel supported, safe, and at ease. I would definitely recommend this method to other yoga teachers and I look forward to joining Suzanne again soon to learn and practice some more.
